     This book consists of almost 2000 pages, and includes over 200 pictures. The entire work is biographical. The biographical sketches are grouped by families. When reading through the book you will see the family's surname followed by a biographical sketch of that family. There is a lot of information included in each sketch. Each sketch can contain information covering several generations. While the titles states this book deals with western Pennsylvania, I have found mention of almost every Pennsylvania county. So while the subjects of this book lived in the western half of the state at the time of publication this book lends itself to all Pennsylvania researchers and enthusiasts.
