100% Searchable, Scalable, Printable
Disappointed with previous published accounts of the early history of the Juniata Valley, U. J. Jones took it upon himself to write a thorough account of the lives of the early settlers. To accomplish this Mr. Jones set out interviewing several of the areas oldest residents. What resulted is a collection of stories as told by in many cases by the people who were involved. This book contains a great deal of information about the lives of the first settlers to the Juniata Valley. From getting to the area and clearing lands for farms and towns, to their struggles with the local Native-Americans, to the way their lives changed during the American Revolution. There is a wealth of information here for the interested historian and genealogist. No Juniata Valley researcher's collection would be complete without this excellent reference.
